What does #Christmas mean to me?
Merry Christmas!
What does Christmas mean to me?
It means a time to celebrate all that Jesus Christ has done for me. It is a time to reflect back on struggles and how I have overcome them or am overcoming them. It is a time to be around family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and just folk that I have not been around or never been around before. It is the time to enjoy the NFL and NBA games. It is the time to eat good food and not care about how my waist expands. And this year, it is the time to spend money on ME!
No, I did not go overboard. I replaced my favorite perfume, Good Fortune, which I could no longer find in the local stores here in Baltimore, Maryland by Viktor & Rolf. I am trying something new. Thank you to the fragrance salesladies at Macy's in Towson, Maryland, for helping me and the male customer and employee for allowing me to borrow your nose. I love the new elixir, Perfect, by Marc Jacobs!
It is time to be manipulated into cooking another turkey by one of my sisters, Surreal.
I love you, Surreal!😄
It is the time of year to people watch while the family, friends, and associates gather, eat, and fellowship. Not just my food but the food prepared by all those who bring something. Cooking is a labor of love; when it is no longer, it is time to order out.
It is the time of year to remember the birth of Christ Jesus and why He was born in the first place.
So, this Christmas Day, try to show yourself love and love towards others—even strangers who may lend their noise to you to see what fragrance smells best. Be sincere and truthful without harming or abasing anyone. Give a sincere compliment to someone to uplift them, even if it seems non-important. Mind your manners! Sometimes, it is best not to say anything than to say something hurtful.
Ask for forgiveness from others and forgive yourself. None of us are perfect. But in the name of my new elixir, I will strive every day to be my true self, genuine and accountable, one of God's sweet aromas. And I will be me all day long.
If I step out of that zone, retreat, breathe, and start afresh again. That may mean I go take a walk and come back. I let you know nicely that what you said just hurt me. Or, I may just pray to myself, asking for His help.
It is essential to be around people with whom you can muster, adore, and or love and share the gift of agape love this season.
Merry Christmas from me to you!
