She was accepted in to Syracuse University and received the Presidential Scholarship. I was so happy and proud.  In her second year at Syracuse University , I lost my job with the State of Maryland Department of Commerce . I was nervous she would not be able to complete her education and graduate. We was homeless for a while. I moved to Houston, Texas while she finished her education.  For three of her four years at Syracuse , I was homeless, which meant she was homeless outside of her school address. But she pushed forward and graduated on time. She landed a job for Teach for America and they brought her back to ...

New Beginnings #2022 Trio Scholars Upward Bound CCBC Catonsville Photo Above Upward Bound CCBC MD Catonsville Faculty, Staff, and Scholars at Decision Day Ceremony for Seniors Class of #2022 I have worked with Upward Bound CCBC MD Catonsville Program for 2 years come August 2022. It has been a journey of laughter, tears, anger, and joy. Mostly joy! This #Covid pandemic as been something to handle. But for our Baltimore County Public High School students this journey has been all to real.  The Class of 2022, spent most of their 4 years in lock down, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous schooling. They spent one-on-ones each month having Upward Bound Check-In's mainly virtual with my colleagues and my self. But guess what, they were victorious! They got through. They keep up their grades. Went to school even when all they saw was little circles on a screen. They came to Saturday Academy virtually and was attentive and participated.  Now our babies a...
