In the year of 2021 there were many ups and downs. We dealt with #COVID and still is. We wore our masks and still are. And so many families lost loved ones to an enemy no one can see, Covid.

863K deaths due to Covid in 2021 in the United States of America.

"Looking at the most recent data on deaths from COVID-19 and other causes, it becomes clear that COVID-19 is currently the number one cause of death in the United States."

With this knowledge we must hold onto our families in 2022.

Who does God say is our family?

"Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother."

Quoted from Holy Bible- Mark 3:34-35

In 2022, hold tight to those who God has blessed you with as your family. They may be biological, adopted, extended, it may be by association in an organization, a work family, and or grafted into like the Gentiles to the Family of Jesus Christ.

Families may not always get along with one another. You may not always like what they say or do. You may not even agree with who their friends are, the organizations they are a members of, their political affiliations or their beliefs. However, they are your family!

Love them!

Try not to judge them!

Love them more!

"Now faith, hope, and love remain- these three things- and the greatest of these is love."

No one is perfect! I am not perfect! You are not perfect!

Let us try in 2022 to embrace our families near or far even if it is by a simple prayer for their lives to change in a positive way.

"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

After the last two years that we have had, we need more agape love upon this land. We need to embrace our differences and remember that because we are a diverse nation we are better for it. If God wanted us all to be like each other and think like each other, He would not have created us uniquely different and in His image.

Every part of the Body of Christ has a function. Just like every individual has a reason, God placed them in your family. You may not understand why. You may even want to be a part of another family. But remember, God has His reasons. He loves you. Your role is not to question God but embrace what each individual is in your life. It could be to make you a better person.

My mother once told me when I wanted to know why I could not always go with or do some of the things my siblings did, she said to me, "I do not want you to be like them, I want you to learn from their mistakes and successes and do greater and better." I did not understand back then. But now I do. Every generation should do and be better than the one before. But because of strife, jealousy, envy, back biting, pettiness many do not. Then you add the icing on the cake, Covid, and all we can say is yuck not yummy!

In 2022, make a New Years resolution to love your family even if it is from a distance.

Love them!

...and then love them some more!

Don't forget the ingredient forgiveness.

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

Quoted from the Holy Bible- John 10:10

In 2022, remember God wants your family and YOU to live life more abundantly.

If you have not reached out to a family member this year yet, call them. Drop them a note and mail it. Say, "I love you!"

Let peace dwell first in your & my families and across the United State of America and across the World. It starts with each individual and then spreads one to another- LOVE, PEACE, and HEALING!

John 15:12: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Corinthians 16:14: Do everything in love.

1 Peter 4:8: Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

2022 the year of rebuilding and renewing our families!
